At nine years old, Ariel Ford began to notice something important within her community. While watching her mother pour into young men, encouraging them through youth mentorship to become better versions of themselves, she found herself asking a question that would not go away: What about the girls?
Ariel observed that girls her age were quietly struggling. Some felt discouraged after getting in trouble, others were targets of bullying, and many just felt like they could never get it right. Ariel believed that community support was essential and that something needed to change. She decided she would not wait for someone else to make that change.
She approached her mom with a bold idea—to create a space dedicated to girls empowerment, where they could be reminded of something she already knew deeply in her heart: that they are always enough.

In Ariel's own bedroom, there was a wall covered in affirmations—words her parents placed there to remind her every single day of who she was and whose she was. Beautiful. Strong. Victorious. Chosen. Created. Capable. Never alone. Always loved. Enough. She wanted every girl to have that same foundation, so she built it for them through community support and girls empowerment initiatives, emphasizing the importance of youth mentorship.
At the very first I Am Enough Period event, in the Spring of 2024, Ariel stood before a room full of girls and spoke with a confidence that went far beyond her years. She told them that mistakes do not define them, and that their challenges cannot cancel their dreams. Through community support, she emphasized that they are allowed to grow, learn, stumble, and try again. They are seen, believed in, and supported in their journey towards girls' empowerment. The room changed, and the movement of youth mentorship began.

When Adriene, Ariel's cousin and one of her closest friends, heard the vision, she did not hesitate. With a strong commitment to community support, she rolled up her sleeves in the Fall of 2024, stepped in, and helped bring the mission to life. Together, these two young leaders have spent the past two years creating spaces for girls' empowerment, where girls are affirmed, celebrated, and reminded of the queen within them, all while fostering youth mentorship.

What started as a conversation has blossomed into a community movement fueled by community support. Families are being touched, neighborhoods are being impacted, and the girls who walk through these doors leave empowered, knowing something they may not have understood when they arrived. That they are enough. Not someday. Right now. This is only the beginning of our youth mentorship journey.
